Bengaluru, April 16 – Residents across Karnataka, including Bengaluru, should gear up for more rain, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert in effect until April 17. Expect light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in several parts of the state.
🔹 What’s in the Forecast?
- Partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers expected in Bengaluru on April 16.
- Wind speeds may range between 30–50 km/h, increasing the risk of gusty conditions.
- The alert follows recent thunderstorms and showers across north and west Bengaluru.
Furthermore, the IMD has flagged the following 15 districts for weather-related caution, urging people to stay vigilant.

- 6.2 mm of rain was recorded at Palace Road observatory by 8:30 pm.
- The heaviest showers occurred between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
- Gusty winds were reported across multiple areas.
